In 1919, scientist Ludger Mintrop used the principles of seismic refraction to locate Allied heavy artillery.
In subsequent years, it was used to locate salt domes in Germany, which are often associated with oil deposits.

Over time, it was abandoned in the oil and gas exploration field due to the superior performance and accuracy of reflection. It remains very useful in soil characterization, especially for tomographic purposes, due to its ability to highlight lateral velocity variations.

Nel tempo si sono sviluppate diverse metodologie di analisi del dato:

  • Delay Time method
  • Wave front method
  • Plus Minus method
  • GRM method (Generical Reciprocal Method)
  • Seismic tomography

Our DoReMi, supported by the MARW and REFRACT modules, allows easy management of any dataset acquisition to be processed.
